The following are a selection of projects that I have completed while I worked at Satellite Media (2007 - 2010).

Pulse

The following Flash animations were for a Facebook campaign for the energy drink Pulse. People using Facebook could upload a photo of their head and have it placed on the body of the stick figure in three different scenes, which they could then send to their friends. The animation was kept basic intentionally to create a flip-book feel to the stick figures. Music and a navigation menu on the right-hand side were added later.

The Parenting Place

This animated comic strip series gives advice to parents of various ages of children. The comics act as a vehicle to give people a laugh about what they are going through as parents and then provide links to books and other online information that could help them with their own children. Originally these strips were displayed on a touch screen in the Parents Inc. office space, but it was later re-sized and incorporated into The Parenting Place website.

I wrote the scripts (and tweaked the stories after feedback from Parents Inc.), concepted the characters, drew, coloured and then animated the comic strips. Originally, the eldest daughter (Olivia) was going to be very emo, but I was asked to tone that down. I've included an early production sketch so you can see how she developed.

Parents Inc. had already come up with the name "The Parenting Place", but I still like my street sign idea that adds a double entendre to the word "place". It gives the strips a Neighbours/Ramsay Street feel and sets the tone for a suburban show to which I added more comedy.

Attitude Audio Lounge re-design

This Flash environment gave advice to teenagers via different channels on a TV screen. The TV, in this version, had animated characters that were loaded into the Flash from SitePal. SitePal characters/avatars deliver lip-synced monologue to audio that you upload.

The rest of the lounge was animated by me. You can flick the light switch, pat the cat, play with the robot, turn the mp3 player on, or view the remote control to choose the movie/character you would like to hear next (the TV animation and audio cannot be seen/heard in this version).

The SitePal feature has been disabled by Satellite because a new lounge was designed for Attitude. So I've placed some screenshots in the TV screen to show what the characters looked like. The characters at SitePal could be customised quite a lot - their hair, faces, skin, clothes and accessories could all be changed.
