Fallout Pen and Paper d20 Guide
In October 2006 and May 2007, I completed artwork that was
to appear in the first Interplay
approved Fallout Pen and Paper d20 Guide by Glutton
Creeper Games. The role-playing game manual was to be
based on the Fallout
video game series.
Unfortunately, due to legal difficulties with ZeniMax / Bethesda
(who were creating the Fallout 3 videogame), we were unable
to continue to publish the book using the Fallout IP (Intellectual
Property). Instead, the book was reworked to become an entirely
new IP - Exodus.
Some of our previous illustrations were dropped and more were
commissioned. The book will be released in the US in January
2008. Stay tuned for some scans...
In the meantime, enjoy my previous illustrations from what
would have been the Fallout PNP.
Fallout Armor
I was asked to create some armor (or "armour" as
we spell here in NZ) illustrations for the Fallout d20 Guide.
I saw this as a great opportunity to add in a 1950's feel
to my illustrations by creating some tongue-in-cheek advertisements
that would have been published before the Great War in 2077
(in the Fallout timeline). The fonts used are the same as
those used in the introduction sequences of the Fallout
2 video game.

Vault Boy
This character is the instructional mascot of the Fallout
games. Vault Boy provides the player with information on their
various skills and stats via the PIPBoy
2000 (a wrist-mounted computer your character wears).
He also imparts 1950's advice on how to survive after a nuclear
holocaust. Vault Boy was originally created and named by Leonard
Boyarsky.
